This year’s Canal Railway & Chocolate Festival in Sensational Smiths Falls is being held July 16th-18th, 2010. The Canal Railway and Chocolate Festival boasts lots of family fun on the shores of the Historic World Heritage Rideau Canal, located in Centennial Park under the water tower. Admission prices: Friday night Loonie and Toonie night $2 adults $1 kids all rides $1 and $2. Family pass in advance available at Milliwiggins, Dawns Closet and DBA Office (AM hours only) 2 adults and three children $20 Individual passes available at the door $5 per day adults $2 children per day weekend pass $10 and $5 for kids. This year’s foot-tapping Line-up includes such acts as Johnny Rock Star, Fernando Scattozza, Maria Hawkins Band, The Journeymen, Vyne Rhymes, River Street Junction, ESP, Doherty Brothers, Cadillac Crew, Freddy Vette & The Flames, On Common Ground, Tearless Soul, The Roadies and Meredith Luce and Band, and Roger Plant. We haven’t forgotten the fun and laughter either! With The Renfrews, Larry Smith (Top stand-up Comedian and delighted to have him as MC), Dottie The Clown, Eric Leclerc (Canada’s top Magician), The Purple Dragon Puppet Theatre, Markus (Star of YTV), Lil John Magic and Variety Show, Kobbler Jay the Eccentric Juggler, The Fire Weavers and Cap’n Matt just to name a few! A multitude of Family Friendly workshops are scheduled from Puppet Making , balloon sculpting, Character Creation with Frank Meschkuleit –voice and puppet master from “Follow That Bird” and “Fraggle Rock” to Face Painting Workshop with Dottie The Clown and Elementary Magic with Eric Leclerc and if you’ve ever wanted to learn how to juggle-Kobbler Jay can teach you! We’ve got Medieval Battle Demonstrations, Tug of War Games, Chocolate Contests, Voyageur Canoe Rides, Free Electric Train Rides and Horse & Wagon rides and of course-our awesome parade!
