This year’s Canal Railway Festival in Sensational Smiths Falls will be held on July 15th – 17th, 2011.

The Canal Railway Festival boasts lots of family fun on the shores of the Historic World Heritage Rideau Canal, located in Centennial Park under the water tower.

Admission prices:  Advance-family pass available at Dawn’s Closet (7C Russell Street East, Smiths Falls) until July 9, 2011 – 2 adults and 3 children (under 12 years old) $20.  Individual passes available at the gate $5/day adults; $2/day children; weekend pass $10 adults/$5 children.

This year’s foot-tapping line-up includes such acts Lindsay Barr, the Searsons, “Elvis”, Eddy and the Stingrays, the Spinney Brothers, the Doherty Brothers, the Continentals, and others.

We haven’t forgotten the fun and laughter either.  Larry Smith (top stand-up comedian) will be the emcee, comedian and his alter ego, Deputy Doodle.  Kobbler Jay the Eccentric Juggler, Dominic D’Arcy will be some of entertainment at the Festival along with an educational puppet troupe “Kids on the  Block”, just to name a few.  Ronald McDonald will join in the festivities as well.   There will also be children’s crafts and interactive activities.   A kazoo making workshop is scheduled for Sunday afternoon. 

There will be a working medieval village on Turtle Island, fire spinners at dark, chocolate contests, horse and wagon, the Festival parade on Saturday at noon, a NEW midway with Classic Amusements and lots of other entertainment.
